MARY MOSES
I grew up in an AAPI household where the path was clear: work hard, get good grades, get a stable job, don't make waves. And honestly? Those values gave me an incredible work ethic, a deep respect for community, and the discipline to build something from nothing.
But when I became an entrepreneur, I realized something was off. The very qualities that made me a "good" daughter — humility, staying under the radar, putting the group before myself — were the exact things holding me back in business.
Marketing requires visibility. Leadership requires taking up space. Entrepreneurship requires betting on yourself. And everything I was raised to believe said: don't do that.
Tradition Breakers is the conversation I needed — and couldn't find. It's for every AAPI founder who feels the tension between honoring where they come from and becoming who they need to be.

We're not here to disrespect our culture. We're here to evolve with it. The discipline? Keep it. The community-mindedness? That's a superpower. But the belief that being visible means being selfish? That promoting yourself means betraying your upbringing? That's what we're breaking.
